I grew up in Satellite Beach, a town in Florida known for its surfing and NASA space station. Sadly I took up neither surfing nor space travel and went on to study Cell and Molecular biology at the University of South Florida. I then spent two years at MIT in Dr. Tyler Jacks' lab developing new mouse models for studying anti-tumor immune responses. After a one year detour in San Francisco to work on the genome engineering team at the Chan Zuckerberg Biohub, I came to the University of Minnesota for my MD/PhD where I plan to pursue my interests in cancer biology and oncology.
